Hope you're well today. Basically I need a little help with the above topic.

I have a 500gb external hard drive currently sitting idle, so I've decided to use it as storage to play uncompressed Blu Rays to my jailbroken PS3.

On Friday (after much trial and error) I was able to rip a Top Gear Blu Ray to the HDD via MakeMKV and MKV2VOB, by using the usual method of splitting the files then sticking them on my HDD. This worked so was delighted.

Now confident in my method, I then tried running a different Blu Ray through MakeMKV, and got a message saying 'unrecognised video codec'. I followed the procedure exactly the same but after three attempts with different disks this kept happening. I also tried it with a SD DVD and achieved the same result.

I've tried the MakeMKV forums and got nowhere, so basically I'm just looking for any suggestions or ideas on how to get around this problem, or alternative programmes I can use instead of MakeMKV.
