    Default how to format my external usb HD ?

    for some reason i cant format my external usb HD to FAT32 can you help me out

    Newer Windowses cannot format to FAT32 (or something). You need third party software for that. Get something called Guiformat. It did the trick for me.

    ^ you are my new best friend i <3 u cuz i tried 100000 different programs and they wouldnt format my hard drive because it was a clickfree backup drive

    Fat32format.exe

    easiest way by far

    Download FAT32format 1.05 Free - FAT32format is able to easily format large hard disks in FAT32, even in Windows XP. - Softpedia

    thanx for the links .but cant you just plug in the new drive ,right click on the new drive icon .and select to format as fat 32,that was my understanding.please correct me if im wrong. im running xp.

    Moved to PC help section.

    Also Windows XP, Vista and 7 can format to FAT32 just fine, you can find out how to do it on Microsofts website.
