Default Windows 7 7600, yea or nay?

I downloaded an iso of Windows 7 build 7600, and have been deciding whether to go up from Windows Vista.

Reason being, there's a lot in the clouds with this Win7 build, and I lost my old Vista install CD.

    I have no backup options.

So should I go for it or wait for a build of Windows 7 that is not as mysterious?

Well, I would be worried exactly about how W7 will perform on your machine, but how well your disk will work. I've downloaded countless operating system disks that didn't work...You should check if you can boot off it and if you can, then I'd say go for it. If you don't like it, just download a Vista disk

I'm running windows 7 build 7100 since a few months and it works like a charm really. I have encountered nothing that makes me feel it's an incomplete OS. I very much prefer w7 over vista (or any other OS), which I had prior to w7. The new taskbar functionality alone is worth the upgrade for me.

    My input:

nay, windows 7 is only beta, the serial number as well is only beta, which means it will run out. Wait for the full windows 7 before updating it.

Bah, went ahead and did it.

So wonderful, only BSoD'd on me once, which I think is a stupid error on my part overloading this crap I don't know.

Everything I've thrown at it runs wonderfully, and the new taskbar is awesome. Sticky notes help, too.
