    Default modchip doesn't read burned games as much

    the modchip on my ps2 fat doesn't read backup copies more than half the time
    and ive had that modchip in my ps2 since 2004 or 2005 dont remember...

    my ps2 still reads original copies normally though but the modchip sometimes cant read the burned copies why is that? is there a way i could fix it? what would the problem be?

    and i dont remember what the model of my modchip is cause its been years

    Your modchip shouldn't be reading disks at all, if it is then you have some serious problems.

    To me it sounds like your laser (the thing that is supposed to read the disks) is on it's last legs.
    I recommend replacing it.

    its not my laser since it reads my original games WELL.... so it has to be the modchip...
    is there a way i could fix the modchip to work better so that it reads burned copies like it used to instead of resetting my ps2 fat multiple time to make a copy work....

    It IS your laser, when a laser is dieing the first thing to go is the ability to read burned disks then CDs then DVDs.
    With a modchip it either works or it doesn't, there is no "sometimes".

    maybe the modchip is in stealth mode or smthing...im not such a pro in chips but just a suggestion...

    better i recommend you do a memory exploit...so then no worries
