    Default repairing iMac

I have an iMac G5 20" Model A1145 that I was given buy my school.

It does not power on when I press the power button.(as if it is plugged out)
I have tried all support articles I have found but to no avail.

according to the school it had been struck by lightning.(I doubt this)
how could I go about getting it repaired?
for information's sake I live in quite a remote area with at least 2 hours drive to the nearest large city. there are no apple stores in my vicinity.

fried power supply or motherboard most probably due to lightning
although you doubt it, lightning strikes causing damage to computers is quite common
    especially for dsl lines
and unlike a pc, mac parts cant easily be replaced
