    Hi my name is carlos i come from puerto rico..
    registered along time ago..but forgot i had an account here..
    you may know me as mspointsserver in 360 iso..
    hoping learn stuff about ps3 and ps2..
    im a noob at this..but whatever time will help me out..

    first question..in durability which ps3 stands out ...slim or phat..
    never had a ps3,,and im thinking of buying one..

    Umm.. Welcome to the site. Here some +rep.
    I got a Ps3 slim and my bro has a fat with bc and still running strong.
    So I would say depends on how you take care of it.
    A slim is supposedly less prone to YLOD though.

    The main thing is finding a ps3 with OFW 3.55 or below if you want CFW.
    Unless your gonna downgrade / flash it with ProgSkeet or E3.

    fats have a higher chance of getting YLOD due to the cheap components they used with launch models. Slims have a smaller chance of YLOD than fats. Also if you find a Fat with BC on the market, its most likely been refurbished.

    Fixing a YLOD console is a pain in the arse and unless you absolutely must have a BC console, Id say go for a slim.

    hey dude welcome
    i got a fat and its running strong! i take good care of it tho. i opened it and vacuumed and blow it out and stuff
    lots of dust but once you keep it kleen and well vented, u should be fine
