CFW can only be installed if your on 3.55OFW or below.
It seems like you received a new PS3 for christmas.
It is safe to say that your model is not downgradeable.

If it was pre-owned you can check whether it is downgradeable via hardware flasher, check the model & date code & compare it to info on

you cant put 3.55 cfw on 4.30 ofw at all you sell the one you got on ebay and 3.55 ofw form ebay or you can reutern the ps3 get ofw 3.55

Your best bet is to try finding one at 3.55 or lower on eBay.

yes i know it hard i am looking for one too that only way to jb the ps3 now

I was looking at the new rogero 4.30 CFW v2.03 it says no downgrade needed is that talking about ps3 that are already jb or is it something i should look in to ill go surf the tutorial also thanks for the advise

You read the title of Rogero's thread.
It actually says 'no downgrader.PUP needed'.
It is referring to CFW.
Previously, to update from 4.21CFW Rogero or 4.30CFW Rogero, users had to downgrade back to 3.55CFW & then to the latest Rogero CFW. The downgrade process involved updating to Downgrader.pup via XMB causing it to go into a hybrid 3.55/4.25CFW and then one would dehash and recovery update to 3.55CFW Rogero v3.7 and from there one would recovery update to the latest Rogero CFW.
When 4.30CFW Rogero v2.03 was released, downgrading to 3.55CFW was no longer required. The new method was simply updating to v2.03 via XMB.
Hence Rogero added 'no downgrader.pup needed' in reference to those currently on Rogero's 4.21CFW or 4.30CFW.
