Thread: VB4 with Old Color theme

Hi,

as all knows VB4 works like a charm but I would Like to suggest that please apply old color scheme because we already use to with it.

now new threads and old threads color scheme is not really good as previous.

Red is too flashy IMHO. I think we'll have some themes soon to choose from so everyone has what they want

yap providing the theme select is very good indeed because every user can select his own theme

The site feels like it runs smoother but I takes way too much ram now with the upgrade and takes forever to load on very fast and good wifi. Maybe the mobile version is needed now

depending on the mobile phone you are using you could try opera turbo.

Opera turbo doesnt render forums well AFAIK. Didnt render it well on the old v3.7 for me anyways. And this red theme really hurts my eyes, especially on profile page >_>

it might get along well with VB4. though you could just use regular opera. (all it's good for is low ram environments)

My gripes (because I can find annoyances in anything)

1) Pages crawl to load now
2) URL's to thread postings are way too long now and too hard to maintain a page that has a lot of them
3) Clickable links aren't discernible from regular text as they are the exact same color and nothing separates the two. You can't change the color of text for clickable links manually either.
4) Code boxes stretch the entire width of screen now forcing all your links to the left of the page even though you want them centered, also no need for left/right, up/down inactive scroll arrows if the text doesn't take up the space to where you need to scroll.
5) Replying to a post there is a huge blank area below your text to where you have to scroll down to find the Post Reply button.
6) Thread titles and thread creator/date text are too close to each other and similar sizes. Hard to read through thread titles when you have to read through thread starter/dates too.
7) Thread titles get shift a space or two to the right due to "new post" icons where if your thread title already takes up the given amount of text string length it wraps around and gets shifted to the next text line below taking up two text lines for your thread title.

Don't know what the VB4 designers were thinking.

I agree with everything Blacktoo said, and it's annoying that we can't view the whole (or at least most of it, as in the old forum) thread title. When I click on new posts, Some title appear as '[FS]' only because someone used a long string/title that couldnt fit...MEH!

Forgot to add that you can no longer click to view an "individual post" anymore. It just takes you to the post of the post within the 10 thread list it is on but still shows the rest of the other 9 threads with it.
