Limit who can start threads in PS3 News Section!!!

Can we PLEASE put a system in place for only trustworthy folks can post in the PS3 NEWS section.

too many useless posts... too many illiterate posts in the past as well.

People posting fake news or very half arsed researched news and its getting old... fast.

Fake news from fake twitter accounts.... useless showtime mods that brick consoles...

how bout some quality control up in here please?

Too many registered users for mods to constantly edit threads... need to stop people that dont know what they are talking about from trying to talk about chit they dunno anything about.

I dunno what is best, let only senior members (or higher?) start threads in that section? maybe only people with 5 rep bars start threads or something I dunno.. but letting any ol tom, d:ck and harry post some useless mess isnt fair to the readers here nor the mods who have to clean up the mess.

In the extremely unlikely scenario of some noob getting ahold of some useful info that no one here knows I personally would rather wait a day for confirmation on it and ps3iso get the news a bit late than to have your overall credentials shot to hell with some many spam posts as of late.

Its becoming like the boy who cried wolf... you may post something useful but no one will read it cause it the other bull**** 20 posts they read that were useless.

thanks just my .02 from a guy who used to come here everyday, now not nearly as frequent due much more to the above outlined mess than the lack of new ps3 games to play.

Not actually a bad idea. News needs some higher quality control and we can't always ask for mods to be present with their hammers ready. And Admins/Mods said b4 that new PS3 applications have their place (not news, unless it's like MM bringing a BIG change). Harsher actions should be taken against fake news and TROLOLOLS.

As for limit for post count...I'm not sure about the implemtation from AdminCP, but I think Senior Members and higher can be the only ones allowed to post in News section.

Also The Doc I believe said a long time ago he was gonna recruit News Hounds (that's what it was called) who are reliable news hunters and can moderate the news section. Also a possible choice. Or give a 1-2 junior mods who's only job is to take care of news section.

There may have been a system where only Senior members and up could start posts... but if it existed it was removed.

Want to be clear that I wasnt bashing the site or current admins its a great site and the admins do great work... frankly they just more than have their hands full it seems.

From my rather extensive forum exp its easier to restrict who can post (if possible) than to have to bump up some new guys to admin or to create a stable working groups on these newshounds (which in itself isnt a bad idea, remember hearing about it before, only prob is if theres 3-5 of em and they all take a break at the same time lol)

but really any kind of change or restriction IMO would be a good idea, just throwing out ideas to help keep ps3iso up in the upper echelon of ps3 sites.

Well I have Seniors just make useless posts as well, so that rank doesn't always prove well.

I agree with you, but maybe the News section posts would have to pass Approval before it even gets posted.

Umm that guy 'borrows' heavily from others posts and re-words as his own. 1000+ post-count in 3 months does not equate to 'quality' posting. A lot of new members might want to post something they found but can't because of this idea. I'm not saying it's wrong but i've seen a lot of 'Senior Members' who have no clue what they're on about either.

I agree with the point that some new members can post as well (or as bad) as a senior member. We just need some 'quality assurance' in the News area. And mods can't do everything on their own (or have other things to do but to tend, clean, add links, and so on) in the News area.
