Thread: Moderators chosen by users vote.

In my opinion is more fair and democratic if moderators are chosen by users next time needed, you know a list and everybody can put the vote on them.
Nothing against new moderators they are geat guys.
I am not trying to hurt nobodys feelings, is just a idea.

Not a bad idea, but there isn't many regular members here to insure that everyone gets a fair chance. I believe our Admin/current mods are very able to choose/vouch for other elected mods, and they have their ways of checking on our activities.

For the record, i don't think there'll be new mods appointed soon, we have several active ones, and they're all doing a great job

i use to help mod a chat site way back when and we did use this method....
worked like a charm but of-course members were way more active...didnt just join and downloaded/posted only when they needed help

But in all seriousness it may not change the outcome, because the final say is up to the Admin and what they think. Trust me they know allot more about all the members then you think.
I dont know if you remember the last openings but some people put in there opinions on the thread, so thats always an option.

what would be the point of voting when EVERYBODY has a chance to be a moderator when we hold staff applications?

I mean give the chance to everybody even a new or small user to have the power to put the vote on any guy they choose. Thats it.
Can be some qualify stuff or something, just a idea.
I know some people dont like it, but i like to share what i think.

I do take users opinion ,but dint hold any voting on them.Maybe next time we will setup thread so you guys can vote,but its not necessarily means those will be picked up.

that's what I was thinking. because if it was a vote it would be really easy to rig. and good mods are not liked by anyone.(except on here because we love them!)
to win a vote you need to be popular. to be popular you need to make promises. to make responsible promises you need to have motivation. if you have motivation too great it is rarely for good reasons.

like i said is a idea and can be polished a lot, you miss the entire point of my thread. No promise needed and if you stay in this web you can diference between good guys and trolls.
