Thread: Our Tutorial section is underated!

I have been looking around our tutorials section HERE and there's some really great Tuts out there, and I think they're not being given enough attention and credit.

So here's my simple suggestion on how to fix this:
Since we can have notices (as shown by our GIGANTIC ones right, not complaining), my idea is each week, feature one tutorial with one sentence, for example:

Got some unwanted trophies you want to remove? Go HERE<link>

Running out of internal PS3 HDD space? Save some HERE<link>

Your ps3 is overheating? Check out how to maintain and repair it HERE<link>

And so on. Just a simple sentence or two in a reasonalby-sized font, attractively-phrased, and each week cycling the tutorials, and I am SURE it will:
- bring traffic to this great section
- encourage NOOBS to actually LEARN instead of always ask
- encourage senior members to create MORE useful Tuts, which I'm sure will bring even MORE members and TRAFFIC (aka, more $$$ for your ads)

I believe the idea is simple enough for any Admin to implement *you DO have the right to edit those notices, RIGHT?*, and it wouldn't take more than 5-10min PER WEEK to change it. And with VB4 coming up, it'll be a nice addition, like a news-bar or smthn.

I hope I'm not annoying the staff here, but I always want the best for PS3iso :D

For now i don't wanna add much to the site as if we do ,it will face some problems during upgrade.Just wait for sometime.When we will have vb4 we will probably have blog and cms in which we can advertise for the users.Another point you need to note down is not many ps3 scene users are kids ,mostly are either teens or adults .They don't require much tutorial to get the point,but there are many who need them.

I don't quite get your point here. Adults or teens, we all need to learn from somewhere, and I didn't say we babysit them, just point out to things that they might learn (as proved by our help section, maybe DO need help), and leave it to them to read or not.

Well its not hard to hack a ps3. We should say not many people need tutorials to do something.

It's not hard because you've been here long enough. It IS hard when you've just gotten your ps3, unsure of what to do, or just hacked it, and what to explore all the possibilities with it...I don't think you hacked your own ps3 without some sort of guide, correct? Well, maybe other, more in depth and specific guides help you get MORE out of your ps3, and that's certainly for the benefit of the community. Weither we like it or not, many members are not very proficient with technical side of hacking, and having a tut reassures and teaches them.

Plus, I dont think having a single sentence posted every week is too bad considering you'll be helping people, and that's our goal here, right?

I think it was missphrased but either way tutorials will help but maybe because it needs staff approval before anything can be done that's why its underrated

Venom is right.Noone is 100% aware of the capabilities of the little sweetie we call ps3 and I am sure even pros could learn various things from the tut section.But let's get this straight.No matter how many ads admins put up saying 'Visit the tut section today!',we will always have someone ask the obvious.You know ,like 'on youtube I saw 3.70 CFW!That true?'.The fact is I am certain most people visiting the site have seen that there is a tut section so if and when they think they need it,they will visit it.Besides,you can still encourage amateurs to see the tuts by posting some on your signature.Adults or teens,senile or infants we all have questions,just some are afraid to ask.Ok,forget the infants but the others stand

i go there alot actually sometimes on trying to figure out how to do the project skeet even if i've been on the scene for over a year now i know alot but i always to love to learn more about the ps3
