Thread: PS3 Linux/OtherOS section

I think it would be a good idea to add a section for linux or otherOS under ps3. There's a lot of support requests, and the distros are gonna start piling in. I have uploaded red ribbon distro, and I really didn't know where to put it because it doesn't really fit anywhere, so I kinda just stuck it in ps3 news :p

they have gotten a fair amount of traffic in them, and I get pm's almost daily about members wanting help installing or running linux, and they don't know where else to turn because we don't have anywhere to post. I think this poll proves there is a high enough interest among members here to deem it a worthy addition....30% of the vote shows people do give a **** about linux (sorry....just making a joke about the title :p)
Who gives a **** about OtherOS?
OtherOS++ is pretty much brand new for us cfw users, and it's sure to keep growing more as more people mod their consoles and find out they can have their pc capabilities back.

Please consider it!!! It would really help those of us giving linux support to combine our efforts and help more people out by offering a place to find info specific to linux :D

I fully agree with you LY ! It would be nice to have a OtherOS section maybe a subsection like recommended Linux Apps for some Distros !!!

This is a great idea! I was all over the place searching and picking up bits and pieces of info from everywhere trying to get OOS working on my Phat Nand unit. I would have much preferred to get all my info from this site because I trust it and the members here.
Even though I'm up and running, I still have questions to ask and also some information to share that other users may want or need.

A linux/OOS subsection would be great!

Help questions for OtherOS or PS3 based Linux are fine in the PS3 help section as it is for general PS3 help.
