Thread: Rules??? Why are they not being enforced?

First of all let me start out by saying that I have the utmost respect for the moderating team and greatly respect this site however, I have however noticed a few things which I feel really detract from the site.

Flaming needs to be stomped out. It seems like every day topics are being closed not because of the topic but because of people flaming each other. I've seen topics closed to "protect" the OP when what we should be doing is removing the problem users.

I am not a prude by any means but shouldn't using numbers to replace letters be against the rules, if I am not allowed to say a certain word how come it can be said and seen quite frequently by writing it different ways? , I would think this falls under crude and offensive language?

Also signatures, I've seen some that are way bigger than 300 x 300, I've seen animated gifs that are easily 450 x 300.

Please don't take this thread the wrong way, It is not my intention to disrespect anyone or the site.

I'll let an occasional mild four letter word get by. It's when members post with rants with foul language I'll step in & do something. I normally post a written warning first. I'll always give 2nd chances unless it's just flat out ugly.

As far as members posting symbols to replace letters I think along the same lines. As long as it's a mild word & only used maybe once or twice I'll let it slide for the most part. I've not had to give any infractions yet for language but have given a few warnings. We do need to keep the site clean though.

Thanks for suggestions we will look into it.As far as flaming issue goes you can simply report the post you find offending rest is our job.

Agree completely, every other thread is getting closed when in fact the members flaming should be warned/infracted, and if it keeps on, banned. Our community doesnt need that type of members at all.

As for your second suggestion, I happen to think that the PS3 scene is 17+, really doubt there is that many kids around, so we should be allowed to type as we want. We are (most of us) adults after all. As long as we arent insulting each other I dont see a reason to censor language.

Ah and there is an option to ignore signatures in your CP panel, I had to do that cause sigs were eating my bandwidth :(

Are you serious? If we allowed foul language this site would look like a seminar on how to swear! That's definitely not gonna happen bud! We need to keep the site as clean as possible.

I do not want to come here and read a bunch of ranting posts with foul language. There's already enough that we as staff have to deal with on a daily basis. Thanks!
