i'm just wondering. which method is better to use on installing a game on my ps2 hdd? is the hdl dumb method ok? or the winhip?

I'm using winhip. With 23 MB/sec i'm not complaining :D
PS1 PAL Backup Method: Modchip { Retired }
PS2 PAL Backup Method: FMCB
PS3 PAL Backup Method: True Blue V 2.7, MM 4.18.00
PS3 PAL Backup Method: Rogero CFW 4.40 V1.03, MM 4.30.00
Finally a new CFW![]()
In case anyone's interested I recently tested both methods. It took around 45 minutes to install a 4 GB game using HDL Dump with a cat 5e cable connected to a router. It only took around 5 minutes to install it using WinHIIP or PS2 HD Handiness with a IDE to USB adapter. Although, I think using HDL Dump is more convenient if you don't mind waiting.

I second WinHIIP. It has pretty much never let me down. If it's in an "internal" hard drive, you can just connect it to your desktop computer like any other hard drive. Most computers nowadays have an extra slot in the IDE cable (my old computer has one), so just connect it there and WinHIIP should recognize it.

FTP is more practical I think.
