In OPS2L 0.8 you need to enable USB support in the settings.
By default it's shut off, which sounds odd to me.
Hi,
I have setup Open Loader 0.8 and USB Advance to try and play games from my external USB 500gb hard drive. I have used USBUTIL 2.0 to rip GTA Vice City to USB game format (ul files) and it works with USB Advance, the movie stutters and the main game plays fine as i expected having read about the slow issues playing games via USB. However I heard that open ps2 loader 0.8 has better game compatibility and now supports .iso files. I can not get Open PS2 Loader to recognise anything on my USB external hard drive. It is formatted in FAT32 and I have tried both ul file format and .iso to no avail. I read the instructions on naming the .iso file correctly and put it in a DVD folder still it doesn't see anything on the hard drive let alone run the game. Any help would be appreciated!

yup. I tried that. I have set it to manual then to auto then press circle to move back to the USB Game screen but nothing appears!
Did you click X to start the device first on USB games screen?
Hi,
I did yes, but no games appear on the list it doesn't see anything. Only sees games in USB Advance. Why?
Must be a HD that isn't recognized by OPL.
I bet if I formatted the drive and started over it would recognise it with OPL but I don't want to do this as I already have about 70 PS3 games on it! Any other ideas?
You have to hit circle to see the games. The games will show up then. Every game I tried on this wouldn't work though and they would work on usb advance. I always get a white screen using so I gave up trying.
Then you're not doing something right. Try playing with your settings with OpenPS2Loader. OpenPS2Loader has the best game compatibility out there! You just need to know what you are doing. LOL
