Freezing on Free McBoot splash screen
Whenever I start my PS2 without any HDD plugged in it works fine and it takes me to the system screen, but whenever I try starting my PS2 with any of my 2 HDD's plugged in it freezes on the FMCB splash screen, I've also tried plugging a HDD in while at the system screen, OPS2L and HDLoader but to no avail.
EDIT: I got it to work with a flash drive but whenever I try to run Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex I only get a pink screen.

Do you have a mod chip? If so, it may be interfering with Free Mcboot. Also your USB drives may be fragmented, I recommend using Auslogics Disk Defrag.

Yes I do have a mod chip but while my PS2 was at a friend's house he was able to play games on it. I am going to try Auslogics Disk Defrag on my HDD's.
Thanks.

Was your friend able to connect a HDD to it without it freezing?

No actually he only has a flash drive.
I defragmented the HDD's but it still freezes.

What kind of drives are you using?
Did you check the compatibility of them?
Did they work before or is this the first time?
-
I've got:
FUJITSU MHW2080BH PL
Hitachi HTS541680J9SA00
Where do I check compatibility?
This is my first time trying.
I also just tried starting Spawn Armageddon through a Flash Drive and OPS2L, it changed several colors and then it froze on a black screen.

Do you have a fat PS2 with a SATA or modified network adapter? If so, are you sure the HDDs have been formatted right? Or do you have a slim and are using an adapter cable? If so, then just format and install games on them like the flash drive. SATA drives may not have a good compatibility rate, I'm not sure. And please give more info when posting a problem so people can help you better.
I tested those games out and they both work with OPL from USB. Use the Defrag on the flash drive, if they still don't work then they might be bad ISOs.

I have tried transferring games using USBExtreme tool and USBUtil v2.00. I have a slim PS2 and I use this kind of cable
EDIT: I tried Defraging and Optimizing the Flash Drive with Auslogics Disk Defrag and when I tried Spawn Armageddon it was the same result.

So the cable uses the PS2 to power the drive? It probably can't power them correctly, you should get a SATA to USB adapter with an AC plug in.
I downloaded the Spawn game from The ISO Zone and it worked fine. Did you get the Crash Bandicoot game to work?
