you can mod your ps2 in three ways.....
    1)mod chip-will cost you

You can put a chip in your ps2 which is like cracking out your ps2 and you will also lose
    your warranty....

    2)swap magic-will cost very minimal..
This is actually a set of disks which kinda trick the ps2 to play burnt games....
for this you have to first block you sensors(for this they have also have another product called magic switch pro..using this you wouldnt void you warranty..)...

    and
3)mcboot -will not cost any thing but you need a method to run this*
This a very good method ..

*but for this you need to to be able to boot up burnt disk frm any of the two above methods...
eg: its like tryin to turn on a car but u need the keys to go inside....
another method to install mcboot is by frm some other ps2 which is has a boot method......
NOTE: FCMB(mcboot) does not work on the latest ps2s i.e 90XXX series...
it works on SOME 90XXX series as they were released with an earlier version of the ps2 bios

i find swap magic very good...i personally use swap magic and mcboot..

Not necessarily, you could use the disc swap method, it does differ depending on what model PS2 you have, but it really does cost minimal amount e.g the cost of a dvd-r

    FMCB TUT

    Hope this helps
