    Default Softmodding Ps2 Slim Help

    I want to softmod my Ps2 Slim so that I can play backups of my import games. I do realize that I might not need to softmod my ps2 to do this, but it will also let me try out games before I buy them. I read that I could use FMCB combined with either SwapMagic or CogSwap. Well, I don't want to have to buy SwapMagic if CogSwap works just as well and gets the job done. I have already downloaded everything I need or might need. What I want is for someone to give me a step-by-step walkthrough of how to do so that I don't brick my ps2 when I mod it. If this is not possible to do or no one is willing to help me then that's fine. I'll just upgrade my computer and play my backups on Pcsx2 (but that is a last resort since I really don't have the money to upgrade).

    Thank you for wasting your time to read this to decide my fate :D

    Everything you need to know to install FMCB is in this guide:
    Code:

    Look into using ESR to play burned backups.

    Will this allow me to run games from a HDD or is there some other app I need to add to my ps2 to do that?

    It comes with the program Open Ps2 Loader, it will let you boot games from a USB device or computer network.

    Another question; can I do the game swap trick on a SCPH-770001 system? I do apologize for asking so much, but I'm such a noob when it comes to stuff other than a computer >.<

    You should be able to, but some USB sticks might not be compatible.

    Read around the PS2 section of this forum. You can find a lot off info there. I adjusted my FreeMcBoot memory card so i can play through network, USB HDD/stick, internal HDD, copied disc etc. All the info you need is on this forum but you have to put some time in it.
    PS1 PAL Backup Method: Modchip { Retired }
    PS2 PAL Backup Method: FMCB
    PS3 PAL Backup Method: True Blue V 2.7, MM 4.18.00
    PS3 PAL Backup Method: Rogero CFW 4.40 V1.03, MM 4.30.00
    Finally a new CFW
