Thread: Need help with Ulaunchelf slim ps2 007 swap

I tried to use the 007 swap trick on my slim ps2's, but no matter how many times I burn the patched iso, it always goes to a black screen when I select the second level, or tells me to insert a ps2 disc. I used the Noobie package that everyone else used and the Memento Disc Patcher. It burns just fine. But when I swap it I noticed the music for the game stops, then it starts to play again making me believe that it worked. I'm guessing it's the DVD i'm using? It's a Memorex DVD-RW. I also tried DVD-R and DVD+R but neither seem to work. I can play regular PS2 games just fine...Idk if it's the laser. I have two slims, one is a 79001 7C and the other a 77001 6D. Sensors are blocked and I can swap them with no problems. I used ApacheV1.1, UlaunchElfV4.11 Memento Disc Patcher and I tried Imgburn/CDburnerxp to burn. Also tried burning at 2X 4X 6X 8X 10X and so one.
I have a feeling it's something simple that i'm not doing right. :/ I tried providing as much info as I can. Some help would be much appreciated. :/

bl000...I could kiss you!! I was in the middle of HELL going through the same things that xsjadow was trying...and all I got was a black screen. It would not work at all. I stopped using the Memento patch and it worked first try.

I wasted so many hours...I was sure I was doing everything right but it wouldn't work until I found this thread.

What stinks, is that http://freemcboot.info/ (the official site) recommended this tutorial by Hypno here: http://freemcboot.info/ps2%20ohje/indexe.html and it states to use the Memento patcher.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. They need to remove that from the tutorial. I googled and found tons of people with the black screen problem who are probably having the same exact issue.

Don't use the Memento patch, it will work fine without it, and it might be what's causing it not to work. If it still doesn't work, make sure you've followed every step in this guide correctly.
