Thread: First time modding a ps2, Not first time hacking systems

Good afternoon. i'm new to the hacking ps2's
I have a couple of questions sorry if these been answered already
1.I am getting an action reply from my freind, Do i need this more then once? or can i just use it to soft mod my ps2. then never use it again?
2.I have 2 ps2's one can play blue discs (which i am going to use action reply with) the other can not play blue discs. will this be a problem?
3.Does it matter which phat ps2's i have?

I have vista,however i do have access to a xp computer
I have a thumb drive. 2 of them
i have 2 mem cards, original ps2 mem cards.
all i would like to do is play burnt games and maybe some emulators thats it

Also whats the deal with network adapters? Why are they needed? i can get one at my local store and ill be putting a hard drive in my ps2 as well if all goes well
But yea main question again is do i need action reply any other time? Or can i just use it once and get it done and over with

If you are using it to install FreeMCBoot then you will never need to borrow it again as the FMCB installer can be run from uLaunchELF after the first install.

No, Just install FMCB using the "Multi Version" install then the card will work on all PS2's of the same region. (US/PAL/JP/Ect)

No.

A USB thumb drive.
Action replay.
Tutorials for installinf FMCB
Installing Free McBoot with a Retail AR Max EVO
Action Replay Max (non Evo) and Independence Exploit

Only to install a HDD or to go online with games that have that feature, but most of the games that where worth playing online no longer have working servers.
