I disagree. The US government had some sense before the Revolution and for a few decades after. Sadly, they have steadily lost it and gotten to where we are now. That being said, I miss Megaupload. Long live Kim Dotcom!

Meh, the government has been after the internet for years. One Congressperson even went as far as to say that he wished the internet had never been invented. None of that posturing is for the benefit of anyone except the government. Don't worry, though. Old 'B assured us in his speech the other night that he will ignore what most people had to say about SOPA and PIPA and work hard to thwart those scary Chinese and Russians. Yes, the government taking over the internet to control what information people receive or don't receive is far more important than the fact that the banks have a stranglehold on the economy. He's gonna get elected again. We didn't learn from Germany and it's gonna come back to bite our a$$ off. Ever since that day in September, the government, under the guise of protecting the citizens, has been passing all kinds of things that take freedoms away from the person and giving more power to government....putting us on a fast track to hell....or overt slavery. You know, whichever comes first. For the record, even with the scary Chinese and Russians and whatever other bogeyman they think of, the entertainment industry is still making ridiculous amounts of money.

There's still some options for filehosting. You can also use newsgroups!

I remember them saying they were increasing the prices of games, movies, etc. due to piracy cutting into profits. I wonder now since they have put an end to file hosts if this will effect the pricing and bring it down to a reasonable level. I assuming no because this was never about copyright infringement but more about greed. Just have to wait and see I guess

For a comment like that you deserve a salute. Government and Corporations want to rip people off for tooth and nail, where as they get bonuses while people lose jobs. Its only getting worse. FIGHT THE POWER

When I saw your post, I was shocked. I checked the site and saw the bitter truth. I can't stand the fact that no one is protecting us. No one in political sphere cares about us and our emotions. Just imagine the day when they close all file sharing sites, torrent sites, youtube and wikipedia. It's horrible!!!!!!!!!

    P.S.
I've lost my taste in buying original stuff, cuz I feel that they force me to do it just the way dictators do, plus my idea is worthless to them. :(
