Thread: A VALID question about the upcoming 4.00 Jailbreak

heres the thing, we all know that KaKaRoTo is not including peek and poke in his jailbreak so no backups (yet!) , but what i wish to ask is if you can install .pkg files with the jb then could you manually install PSN games/patches ect? its just a question and if i'm wrong then please just say it nicely and not be a troll LOL thanks :D

short answer no. kakaroto's jailbreak is only able to install official sony signed .pkg's such as official game updates and demos without your ps3 having to get them online. this will only become useful once we are able to find the 3.60+ keys and therefore obtain the ability to forge sony's signature on our own homebrew apps and game patches. we got the way to install the hacks/apps out the way now we just need the keys so they can run.

you can install .PKGs from sony but they would be limited to game updates and demo .PKGs for psn games. so nothing special you can't get from PSN for free anyway.
