Thread: What is with all the hate recently?

I can understand some of this hate with the scams and stuff. But I don't think that should justify people badgering others who are trying to progress the scene in one way or another. Sure I don't have thousands of posts or anything so I'm not instantly recognizable, but it seems like every time now I read a thread, there is at least 2 or 3 people, whether they're new members, or somewhat old members but haven't posted a whole lot, or whoever, getting on everyone's case.

I do believe in freedom of speech and all that good stuff. But on that fact there's also some things that people probably shouldn't post so fires don't start. (yes I know freedom of speech, but arguing over nothing isn't helping anything) If I wanted to use the freedom of speech I might as well make a thread called I play ps3 while going to the bathroom or something stupid, no one's gonna care and it's not progressing the scene in any way. (Stupid example but hopefully people see it)

Then there's a lot saying the scene is dead and whatnot. IMO it isn't dead until there is nothing at all being done to progress the scene. But that's nearly impossible because someone, somewhere is doing something no matter how big or small. Just because some things aren't interesting to you, doesn't make it useless.

Then there are people asking the all important "Keys, keys, where are those keys" question. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy in the world, never claimed to be. However, I appreciate trusted members of this site that are willing to take the time to at least learn how some things work. There's always the possibility that nothing will happen, however on the flip side of the coin there's always the possibility that something will happen. There's no reason to attack/moan/complain/wonder where they are. We will all know when they are released. I for one appreciate what everyone is doing, and if it wasn't for those that actually gave a crap about the scene, there probably would be no scene. :rock:

So for that I say thank you and that concludes my rant :D

(Not trying to start crap myself, but it's troubling to be reading about the scene and what people say about stuff. (Yeah I do care about people's opinions and their contributions) but instead of positive feedback like stuff, there's a bunch of bickering about why this action needs to be justified and it turns into who's on whose side. I'm pretty sure that's not what's supposed to happen when a thread is started or news is posted)

Well said sir. I for one always believed (and still do) that PS3ISO has an amazing sense of community and is a very friendly and helpful environment. You only need to check our Help section to see that even the newest members help out answering others questions, and even when a question is repeated 3 times a day (IS THERE CFW 3.70??!!) we usually remain calm and explain the reason why there isn't. Many members here have dedicated their time and hard work to make it a great place, and even if we have a few in-fightings between us from time to time, and a few trolls running around rampaging, I trust that we'll be stronger that this

The problems you describe have to do with some people who are never satisfied. The scene is not dead, but between some developers abusing trust and scamming, hacks who call themselves developers, but they never release anything because we're all just a bunch of warez mongrels, leechers that attack the only good devs we have because they think they can't find the freakin' keys (never mind that if they did find them, the leechers would still find something to complain about), between all of that the scene is on life support. I remain hopeful that something good will happen soon and despite all that is happening, the scene is still alive. We just need to trust the right kind of people. We trusted AdrianC to easily (I didn't donate), nitpicked at Team Cobra for merely having a pricetag, brown nosed to Math and Gitbrew (They should have just been honest that linux was their game, and that they weren't going to really do much anyway with it), spit in Team PS360 face for even trying anything, let ourself fall to the hype of jfw (that is more and more everyday breaking that hype and becoming troll firmware), and to top it off, we failed to stop and enjoy the miscellaneous things like Showtime, Square's emulators. We've failed to realize that progress isn't just "keys or gtfo", that piracy may be a large part of the ps3 scene, but it isn't the only thing. So kick back and relax. Play a snes game, listen to some music or watch a movie. The ps3 is still largely the console that only does everything, even if everything doesn't include some newer games.

Relaxing is exactly what I'm doing. I mean some people want things to happen, and start flaming and whatnot, when all we need is time. I know the scene has it's slow times, but once something new comes along that makes it all worth the wait. Heck I got 4 other systems to play on, not to mention the emulators on the ps3. All of that stuff racks up time spent not worrying about keys and whatnot. I'm not in any hurry for new advancements, sure faster would be better. But as long as we confide in the right people who are working their tails off, and support the community, most of us will get what we want in the end. I say most because some won't ever be happy. But I'm a very optimistic supporter.
