what crack?? Just burn/create a bootable usb and install it through windows by clicking startup.exe
It's a public release for testing purposes.
after using it for a few days, I'd like to say.....win8 sucks *** without a touchscreen. everything is buried behind 3 menus, the 'app drawer' in the start menu is a thing of the past....hell, the start menu is a thing of the past (having to 'search' for apps makes me wanna punch the screen)....and that giant launcher (whatever you wanna call it) makes everything a million times harder to navigate through...especially when you open it by accident by clicking the start button, like we have all been brainwashed to do after so many years of using windows.
IMHO, I hope this damned OS flops faster than vista so we can move on to windows 9, which will solve all of windows 8's problems and actually be an intuitive touch OS.

I know, its so hard to get used to. There is no need for a crack and it retains comparability with windows 7 BUT it is so hard to get used to this because the apps are in my way in the beginning AND i dont know how to use the start menu.

that's exactly my problem, 100%. I just want my old-school start menu back :(
I hope they are at least smart enough to have one touch version & one non-touch with a normal start menu. Otherwise, this will go the way vista did and die an immediate horrible dead the moment it hits retailers.

no, for now it only supports full & upgrade installations, afaik...but I'm sure at some point soon someone will be releasing a live cd that can, in turn, be used to boot as a vm from usb

all drivers should be compatible...I would thing just plugging it in & scanning windows update would be enough for the driver to be downloadable from the list. I always use windows update for drivers unless I'm using a beta one.
