Thread: Ripping Ps3 Blu-Ray Discs. Then Trasfer To External HDD

Hey there,

If i buy a basic dvd drive for my computer that can read blu-ray discs will I then be able to put my ps3 game into it, rip it, back it up then proceed to play it on my Jailbroken Ps3 with my external HDD.

Is this at all possible?

No, you can't rip ps3 games using a PC's bluray reader. When a ps3 rips a game, it decrypts the eboot, allowing the backup to run. When you rip a ps3 game with your PC, the eboot is no decrypted, which results in an unplayable copy of the game.

You'll have to either download a backup from our PS3 Games Downloads or get an ORIGINAL ps3 game and rip it with your ps3.
