is there a way you can flash your xbox360 with out taking it apart like the ps3 CFW's?

Nope to mod an xbox 360 you need to open it up and connect it to your PC.
You need to find out which DVD Drive you have first to decide which flash method you'll be using.

Your friend can soft mod however, tell him to go to xbox360iso. com and have him go to the non jtag section. I'm one of the original uploaders and my instructions on how to do it are on my thread:

If you buy the CK3 blaster kit like I did you only need to open it once, because you will have access to the SATA port on the front of the Xbox360, I love it.

Dude, if you have no experience at all, take your xbox o someone that has it... you dont want to end with 300 dollars of plastic trash

There's a mod on xbox360iso that comes highly recommended for flashing drives. Contact him. I think it's Zarth or something like that. I hear nothing but good about him.

If you're in the UK...flashing360.co.uk

It isn't hard to mod an xbox 360 all it takes is to follow a guide that is provided on xbox360iso. No need to go asking for a service to do it. Everyone starts with 0 experience so we have to start somewhere.

I had zero experience when I flashed mine. It's not really hard to do, there's a guide on jungleflasher that tells you everything to do for your particular drive.
I just wouldn't recommend him doing one of the drives that require soldering or cutting traces.
