Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
Hello everybody, it pains me to say this but in spite of recent events... I must step down as Administrator of this site. There are many reasons for this, and while some people who step down from any position of rank or authority without any explanation... I do not think that would be fair to the general public.
1) There is a decided lack of communication with the other sites. When the psp site went down for about a week (or longer), nobody could give the common courtesy of warning staff at other sites or it's faithful members. It does not take long to send out a PM or to hit somebody up on MSN or AIM to let them know about current happenings with the sites. Yes, I realize the sites "should" be independent of one another... but this is simply not the case. The psp site has over 90% of the traffic compared to all other sites, and the other sites are indeed called "sister sites". Reality has spoken, in fact it happened again when this site suddenly went down and rolled back to about 4 or 5 days ago. Again... no warning at all and this should not be.
2) There is a major lack of activity along the staff members here. I have tried my best to keep activity up with the case of moderations, but this is what staff and moderators are supposed to do. But besides just moderations... there are still plenty of things for staff to do. Such examples are just answering a simple question from a poster, seeing if links to games and movies are down, coding links from uploaders, checking to see if links are stolen from another site, locking or deleting a meaningless post, deleting old "MOVED" topics that have been left, pointing posters in the right direction of an answer if you don't know, welcoming them in the Introductions Section, saying "thanks" once in awhile to major uploaders... and just plain helping out the new guy.
I do not see why it is so hard to do, but obviously I have failed with overseeing these aspects. I can not force any staff member to do their job, and firing or demoting does not help either. I've heard a couple excuses why and when I talked to a few members about this one of the greatest responses is "School Work". I 100% agree that schooling should come before ANY website. But the undeniable fact is this: If your school work is so demanding... then do not sign up for a position on a website where you will be needed to perform duties on a semi-daily basis. If it is so demanding, then say so and we will work with you. Also people say this is a "dead" site. I admit, it has nowhere near the traffic of other sites... but that does not mean things do not happen around here and it is no excuse for laziness.
3) This is a touchy subject, and the main staff are already aware of it. There was a new Administrator assigned here not too long ago and I feel this was unnecessary and I felt very uncomfortable with it. At the time, we had 4 Admins and only 2 Moderators. In other words many chiefs... but hardly any natives. I talked to the Head Master about it and was not satisfied with the response. This person has done a TON of work for other sites and we all should be grateful for it. But in the same conversation I was told all sites are independent of each other.
So at times we have disagreed and argued on issues, but we still remained civil to each other for the most part. But I know I can not work side by side with this individual and any future conflict will not be healthy with respect to this site. I have always had this site in mind from day one, and that is the main reason I moved from Uploader to Regional Mod then onto the 2 higher ranked Mod positions and eventually Administrator. Don't get me wrong, I know a few other people where up for it and they where asked first, I believe I was second or third choice. Hell... maybe seventh or eighth but the point is I took it on head first and didn't look back.
But now things are different and I do not see the subtle changes or lack of communication and activity healthy to the site. So in all respect, I must resign from the staff totally. Maybe now I'll have time to finish up the Help Section with the FAQs and I'll still upload games and on occasion PC Applications. But I do not even want to be an Uploader status here. This is my choosing and I hope everybody can respect that.
I am long winded, but I think I have said everything I wanted to say on the matter. This was not an easy or simple decision, but I feel it is a necessary one for the site. I thank you one and all for your support over the many months, and just keep on doing what you guys do best. The regular people and uploaders make this site what it is, I am extremely grateful for that.
To the Staff, you all had warning about this. Everything I've ever done on this site, I made sure everybody knew about it. My PMs might have been long, but at the time I felt it was necessary. I've been thinking about this for a month now and finally came to a decision about 2 weeks ago. In a sense... I put my 2 weeks notice in and gave 100% up until today. I think I have said everything I had to say, and again this pains me to step down but I can no longer perform my duties here as Administrator. It must fall to the other staff now... I apologize.
Take care all, see you around.

Re: Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
Sorry to see you go :( but then again it isn't from ps2iso completely I guess.
I read your points and I agree with some of them, eg pspiso not informing ps2, design etc about the switch to vB and partly the lack of activity, but nevertheless it's sad to see you go.

Re: Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
hey bro,
Heh, well look at us now. Both of us started here around the same time and we worked our ways to the top. We went through a lot of good times and many struggles, but we always kept going. You became one of my best friends and, personally, i thought we made a great team. I know that ps2iso will keep going but it will never be the same. Its just now ill have to ask myself "What would Lord Morgren do?"
Always your friend,
commandoboy

Re: Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
Morgren, we didn't always see eye to eye and it is a pretty obvious reference who you refer to in this post. However as you know I'm not just part of the websites, but I do work for the entire ISO community as a whole. In total I've done over 100K forum actions between all of the forums, and even more with advertising, contributing, fixing, and doing everything else I've done. I know you think it is unfair that I am in the position I'm in and I told you I don't really care about it, and I was perfectly willing to move down AS we discussed when I first moved to the spot. You said and I'm saying this from my memory (fuzzy stuff in there) "I don't mind." However, you've made your choice and I will respect that - your position will be open shall you ever decide to return but I've seen you leave two sites with similar complaints in mind and I personally think it is a rather childish game you're trying to play here. You know very well why I couldn't have helped you lately while receiving over one thousand emails and seven hundred PM(s) about lost accounts on PSPISO. No one knew that PSPISO was going down, it had to be done or else PSPISO would be gone forever right now, and not coming back up.

Re: Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
Mys Videl your speeches amaze me 0_o.
But i definetely see your point, you have helped the Iso community more than any other member in all the iso sites, thanks for that ++K.

Re: Morgren stepping down as Administrator.
I kinda support both sides because Mys Videl has to do these things because she needs to fix things but i get Lord Morgren's point of view aswell that he worked hard to get to Administrator and Mys Videl just get's there without dojng anything big. So i am rpped between two sides and once again Lord Morgreen you WILL be missed and i thank you for the present you gave me.
