    Default GMC Bankrupt...

So today dies my favorite car company General Motors. My favorite because when I think of an american car, I think of a corvette, or a 1957 Chevy Nomad, or the most patriotic american car... the Hummer. Now this has me asking, what the hell am I going to get to look forward to when I pick my retirement car when the kids are out of the house. Instead of my childhood dream of owning a new corvette or a new hummer, I will have to look at cars from overseas that I really don't care that much about.

What I really wonder is, who is going to make the army their trucks now. When I was in the army I drove around in more hummers than I can count and many soldiers respect the quality that go into the making of these fine crafted pieces of machinery. Will we have to look to ford to make a sturdy rugged beast like the hummer is? No offense to ford lovers out there, but they can't build a machine that can take the punishment the army puts out. I can see a Ford falling apart before it even makes it overseas. I hope whoever gets the military contract realizes that this machine they will make will have to be more dependable than any other machine ever made.

Every since I can recall the only cars I've ridden around in were either a chevy or a pontiac (like my current car). It will be a shame that no longer can I shop for the same brands anymore in the new car lots. I'm sure if ford went down like GM did, I would still feel bad for the many ford lovers out there. They are very much in love with their cars, and I see why. They aren't bad, but to me, nothing will ever beat a chevy.

Ford bought the rights for Hummer manufacture for the military. (although it isn't public knowledge. Shhhhhh.)
Lucky for me my family cars are made by Ford and MY cars are German and Italian.
So this news doesn't hit me to bad.
Personally I'd rather have a classic Vette than a new one for my retirement car anyway.
Then again I doubt I'll ever retire anyway.

Me either prob lol. A ford hummer... new meaning to the term "Found On Road Dead"

update: In today's wall street journal... some chinese company is gonna buy hummer O_O

oh WTF W T F.... I'd rather have ford do it than that! That's beyond a low blow. Oh, reading on... they are only buying the hummer name and AM General of indiana will continue the military contract. As in, the chinese company Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery will be making the civilian versions of the hummer now. So I guess it's not so bad (unless they make complete military knockoffs and sell them to terrorists *cough*) cause china has always produced such high quality products in the past... like xboxes that catch on fire.

GM is going to be known as "Government Motors" from now on.
The US & Canadian governments own 72% of the company.
State-owned car manufacturer? Reminds anyone of Lada & the Soviet Union?

Don't forget about the poison dog food or the baby toys with lead based paint.

Nahh. Why buy from the Chinese what only costs two crates of jeans and a PS3 in Russia.
