So here's what I did:
Start the game and create the 2.0 savefile.
Quit game,start the ftp server.
Locate the savefolder for your U.S version of resident evil 5 gold edition.(BLUS3027010AE)
Locate and open the savefile you downloaded (BLES0048510AE) and transfer the DATA0.DAT and PARAM.PFD, overwriting the old files.
Quit FTP,start game and now you have the save unlocking all the goodies, YEEESS!!!!
Could you upload your NTSC-U version?

Could someone tell me how to get the dlc for this game? I dont want to update.

Actually, don't worry, I've done it. You have to look for folder 'BLUS3027010AE' and copy the contents from folder 'BLES0048510AE' (The Pal version) over to the already created 'BLUS3027010AE' .
To download saves you need to do the following:-
View topic - How to use PS3 Saved Games on Locked games. • PS3 Brew - For All Your PS3 Needs. PS3 Homebrew, PS3 Saved Games, PS3 Downloads & PS3 News
to log on on PSN without updating:-
download 'Microchip USB HID Bootloader v 2.6b'. Press the update button your PS3break, open the 'ps3break_hermes4c_psn_vtx.hex' file and then press 'Program/Verify' on your PS3Break.
Boot your PS3break as usual (ie. Eject with no disc inside) and then sign in.

RE5 Gold Save
Hi
Ive downld the save file to my Pen drive i.e. PS3 / Savedata/ folder then copied to PS3 but when i start the game it says can't start the save game with different profile name Pls go back and delete the file.
Any idea what i should be doing so that iam able to play the game with save file.
Thanks +rep.

Delete the save on your ps3, make a new one. Play the game for a while and pass a few check points.
Then copy the save file you created onto your usb, and copy all the files (except the .sfo) over your save file with the new one. The SFO file is what identifies your ps3.
Once you load the save, it will load but when you try to save it will say 'data corrupted'. You now make a new save, which will have all the current information that is loaded.
Any problems, post up questions. Anyone got a full save? This particular save isn't full.
I found a whole bunch here, if anyone is up for testing them:-
Resident Evil 5 Save Game Files for PlayStation 3 - GameFAQs
I tested a few of them, here are my conclusions:-
American Save file by HaruSonyFanBoy has everything except for a few items with unlimited ammo but doesn't have any mercenary characters.
American Save file by redsoxfanx8 has all the mercenary characters but doesn't have all the bonus features, which you have to pay for.
Japanese save file by junox00 has lots of money and every thing on the bonus features (except for Versus characters), he also has 100,000 points but doesn't have any mercenary characters.
Pal save has the least amount of things. Barely any bonus features, low exchange points, no mercenary characters.
It's hard to choose which one is best, I wish the Japanese file had the mercenary characters. Anyway, here is my Resident Evil Gold save file.

When I copied the files over except for the SFO file, then tried to copy it back onto the ps3 system. I get an error code and wont let me copy it.
When I coped just the DATA0 file over. It copied onto the PS3 without a problem. But when its time to load from saved file at the game, it only got two options: 1 Load (which you can't obviously due to corrupted data), 2 hit O to continue to play without being able to save game.
...
explain one more time how the process goes please.

got it... FTP is the only way to get it to work

I suppose FTP is. I used the manual method as a test and that worked fine. Either way, the saves aren't as great as I expected. We need a 100% save.
