Thread: Showtime v3.4 released for PS3 — MP4 codec support etc

Today marks the release of Showtime 3.4. For a list of most of the important bug fixes and features added, see the 3.4 page.

Note: It seems Showtime still suffers from out of memory conditions now and then but I’ve not been able to pinpoint the exact cause of those issues. A few things were implemented just prior to the 3.4 release in order to mitigate the low memory problems.

With that said I though I could write something about what’s been done this year and where Showtime is going.

Thanks for the constant updates. This is my Netflix, since I can't go on PSN.

this didn't work for me it wasn't able play mp4 files...all i got was sound but no video..is there a proper setting i have to use?

i will test mp4 videos later but it never has been able to play them, especially those that are considered blu ray 720p, which is a shame since a lot of them are in that format.


edit: it seems a little slower than previous unofficial build and it's the old square icon which sucks. I also still occasionally get the low system memory warning :(

Also no new themes. It has so much potentials sigh

mp4 is not a codec, its a container that holds audio, video (in elementary file), subtitile, fonts and more.

I use this for MKV playback and so far all MKVs have played without issues even the 5.1Profile ones. Though when I click on the info all MKVs show up as A/V Differ 3ms. Does this mean the sound is slightly out?
