The arrival of online gaming consoles this generation has seen a growing area of social applications available on consoles, with the recent addition of Facebook and Twitter on the Xbox 360 console being prime examples. Is this the start of a new era for consoles? Do we need these apps on our consoles?

Some would argue that the features that these consoles already have for social networking and chatting, make these applications redundant, so is there a real need for these features? LOL. Twitter is a free service, but you need to pay MS to be a Live Gold member to use it. Colour me unsurprised.

I'm assuming PS2ISO is getting something in return for this.. I'm willing to help out the site if I can, but I don't trust random contests without knowing what the risk or reward to the affiliate site is. I do wish the playstation forum didn't have a ginormous Xbox 360 on it tho. :-(
